About the Event

Encouraged by the overwhelming response received by Sustainability Fair 1.0 and HSFEA 2016, HSFEA 2018, HSFEA 2020, Sustainability Cluster, SoAE, UPES is organizing the 4th International Sustainability Conference on Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental Advances (HSFEA 2023), under the umbrella of Sustainability Fair 2.0 on October 30-31, 2023. The theme of Sustainability Fair 2.0 (HSFEA 2023) is “Promoting Global Well-being”. The aim of Sustainability Fair 2.0 (HSFEA 2023) is to foster a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, professionals, policymakers, and industry experts to share insights, exchange knowledge, and explore advancements in promoting global well-being. With a focus on the interplay between health, safety, fire, environment, sustainability, and related disciplines this conference seeks to uncover innovative approaches, emerging technologies, and collaborative strategies to address the challenges faced by communities worldwide.

About the Sustainability Cluster

The Sustainability Cluster is a congregation of two erstwhile departments of the School of Advanced Engineering i.e., Health, Safety & Environment & Civil Engineering. The cluster has undergraduate (NBA Accredited), postgraduate, and doctorate programs, with highly qualified & experienced faculty of national and international repute. State-of-the-art infrastructure such as fire training ground, hygiene lab, NABL accredited environment lab, cutting-edge software, concrete lab, soil mechanical lab, advanced fluid mechanical lab and a few more keeps this department apart from others. The students get an opportunity to be involved in live & sponsored projects funded by the government and other consulting organizations. The student chapters (Green Up, ASSP, FSAI, and ASCE) of this cluster help students with their academic, industrial, and social exposure which enriches their overall experience to be employed. The Cluster nourishes students for certifications in professional courses like NEBOSH, IOSH, Lead Auditor: (9001, 14001, 45001, 17025) and others. This Cluster has grown with time and enriched in expertise and competencies in the core Fire Safety, Sustainability and Civil Engineering curriculum and research, which is reflected in the vision and mission of the cluster. Over time, this cluster has expanded and enhanced its expertise and competencies within the core areas of Fire Safety, Environment, Civil Engineering and Sustainability curriculum and research. This evolution is clear in the cluster's vision and mission of the cluster.

About the UPES

Established in 2003 through the UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, UPES is a UGC-recognized university and has been accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023, the Ministry of Education, India, UPES has been ranked 52, with a rank of 54 in engineering and a rank of 39 in management. In addition to this, the university was recently ranked 243 in Asia and the 3rd best private university in India by the QS World Rankings 2023. UPES offers industry-aligned and specialized graduate and postgraduate programs through its seven schools: School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Design, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences, and School of Modern Media. Paper Submission

Abstract

  • Please submit the abstract to the Organizing Secretary on this email ID: hsfea@ddn.upes.ac.in Or online submission via Submission link for the Registration and Payment details
  • The acceptable word range for the abstract is 300-500 words, including 3 to 5 keywords at the bottom
  • Please send in a brief biography and mailing IDs together with the abstract.
  • Note that the articles will be accepted only when plagiarism is less then 15% excluding references.

We accept the submission of high-quality papers describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, experimental and theoretical work or research in progress related to the area as mentioned in the brochure themes. The accepted paper will be published by reputed international publishers (Elsevier/ Springer/ IWA/ESPR). Formatting and paper length limit should be as follows:

  • Full length paper should be within 12 pages 
    (up to 5000 words) including illustrations
  • Abstract: 300-500 words
  • Keywords: 3-5
  • Font: 12-Point, Times New Roman
  • Paragraph: Double spaced
  • Margin: Normal
  • Format: MS word compatible file
  • Deadlines
